Know your limits!
When returning to outdoor activities in the spring, it’s important to ease back into your routine gradually. If you have taken the winter off from running or outdoor sports/hobbies begin with shorter durations or lower intensity levels than you were used to before the snow started. This allows your body to readjust and build up strength and endurance over time, reducing the risk of overexertion and injury. Remember, patience is key to a safe and enjoyable return to outdoor activities!
Practice Proper Posture:
As you embark on your outdoor adventures, don’t forget about your posture! Maintaining proper alignment helps prevent strain on your spine and other joints. Whether you’re gardening, playing sports, or walking the dog. Remember to engage your core, lift with your legs, maintain proper posture, and (as mentioned above) pace yourself. As you fatigue it takes more effort and focus to maintain proper form which drastically increases the risk of injury.
Ergonomic Yard Tools Matter:
After a winter hiatus, your yard most likely needs attention. Investing in ergonomic yard tools that fit well in your hands can go a long way in making your life easier. Curved handles that are the proper height prevent strain and discomfort while gardening or landscaping. Remember, your body deserves the right tools too!

With a little patience and awareness in your approach, you can enjoy a safe return to your favorite warm weather activities while also prioritizing your physical well-being.
